Gardening Volunteer
Join
a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers on Wednesday mornings
working on maintaining the beautiful gardens at Heather Farm. No
previous experience is needed as we are happy to train on the job.
There are many opportunities
to get involved, including:
- working in the rose garden
- plant
propagation
- planting
and working in different gardens
- pruning
and weeding

It
is a wonderful way to learn about plants that do well in Contra
Costa County, and also meet some great people. We have pot lucks
and enrichment programs for all who volunteer. We try to match
each volunteer to what they are physically capable of doing. There
are no limitations to the type of gardening we do. We will train
anyone who wants to come and learn!

Greenhouse/Propagation
Volunteer
Assist
the Garden Director and Greenhouse Manager in production of crops
and/or plants for our biannual plant sales, and garden stock. This
is a great opportunity to meet other people who love plants, and
learn a new hobby or skill.
Activities:
- Pot
and repot, stake and tie, pinch and prune, groom, and water plants
- Sow
seed
- Propagate
plants by taking cuttings
- Mix
soil and fill pots
- Work
at our plant sales
- Work
with other volunteers in a fun setting
WHEN: Tuesday
mornings (10am-12:30), and
Wednesday
mornings (9:30am-1pm)
