Located in the lower parking area near the Sensory Garden the Blue Star memorial Garden is honors the armed forces of the United States in from World War II. Ruth Angevine, a member of the Walnut Creek Garden Club and California State Garden Clubs was instrumental in having this garden be a part of the Blue Star Memorial national organization.

Maintained with the help of the Walnut Creek Garden Club, the color palate for this garden is red, white and blue with a beautiful red Acer buergeranum, Trident Maple as the focal point. Perennials, Bulbs and annuals add to this scheme and change depending on the season.

A Certified Wildlife Habitat and Certified Green Business, The Gardens at Heather Farm (GHF) provides six acres of educational gardens and programs for youth, adults and persons with disabilities. A qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, GHF is self supporting through memberships, fundraisers, grants, private donations, facility rentals and program fees.
